On April 18, the annual production of 20,000 tons of lithium manganese iron phosphate (LMFP) cathode material project of Baiyin Era Ruixiang New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Era Ruixiang") was officially put into production in Baiyin High-tech Zone, Gansu. As the world's largest single-unit lithium manganese iron phosphate production line, the project has a total investment of 485 million yuan in the first phase and is planned to be built in three phases. The final total production capacity will reach 100,000 tons, promoting the upgrading of the lithium iron phosphate battery industry chain.

1. Technological breakthrough: Lithium iron phosphate battery performance is upgraded again
The lithium iron phosphate manganese positive electrode material is an "advanced version" of lithium iron phosphate battery (LFP). By introducing manganese elements, its energy density is increased to 210Wh/kg (15% higher than traditional LFP), while retaining the cycle life (≥2,000 times) and high safety advantages of LFP. Times Ruixiang said that the material is suitable for electric vehicles, energy storage systems and electric two-wheeled vehicles, which can reduce battery costs by 10%-15%, helping lithium iron phosphate batteries break through the energy density bottleneck.

2. Industrial layout: Accelerating global energy transformation
As the core of the new energy industry, lithium iron phosphate batteries continue to see rising market demand. The first phase of the Times Ruixiang project has secured orders from leading automakers and energy storage customers. The second and third phases are under planning and construction, and are expected to reach full production in 2026. The company's head pointed out: "The mass production of lithium manganese iron phosphate positive electrode materials marks a new stage for lithium iron phosphate batteries to move from 'cost-dominated' to 'performance and cost excellence'."

3. Market prospects: The 100 billion-level track adds momentum
According to industry forecasts, the global demand for lithium iron phosphate batteries will exceed 500GWh in 2025, and lithium iron manganese phosphate cathode materials are its key technical direction. The commissioning of the Baiyin base not only fills the gap in domestic high-end cathode materials, but also promotes the competitiveness of lithium iron phosphate batteries in overseas markets through large-scale production, accelerating the green transformation of the global energy structure.
